Civil Defence uncovers warehouse with expired soft drinks in Kogi

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC Kogi State Command, has sealed off a warehouse where suspected expired soft drinks are being sold to the public in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State.

State commandant of the NSCDC, John Oyinloye said the discovery was made possible through a tip-off from the community where the big cola drink was served at an event.

Stored in this building in four different rooms are suspected Big Cola drinks perceived to be expired after a guest raised the alarm when served at an event as he perceived an offensive small.

Following a tip off after confirming the development, the Kogi State commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps alongside officials of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and control, NAFDAC is here to enforce a seal off.

Commandant John Oyinloye said, although the suspect is at large, a manhunt has been launched to arrest and bring him to book.

In the past few months, the NSCDC in Kogi State has been engaged in several coordinated operations aimed at ensuring the social, security and nutritional safety of residents as part of the mandates that established it.
