Elder Statesman and Leader of Pan Niger Delta Forum( PANDEF) Edwin Clark has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently withdraw the renaming of Agbor railway Station after Former President Goodluck Jonathan , describing the honor as one that diminishes the prestige of a former president.

Addressing a Virtual Press Conference On Thursday in Abuja, Clark Said instead of naming a railway station after Jonathan, a national infrastructure should be named after him considering his role in strengthening democracy in Nigeria.

The former federal commissioner for information explained that it is a known fact that the resuscitation of rail transport was one of the legacy projects of former president Jonathan , adding that same way official responsibilities differ in importance and risks , same consideration should be borne in mind when honouring people.

He called on the minister of transportation Rotimi Amaechi to avoid making a mockery of Ijaw Leaders , rather he should embark on a reconciliation mission.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on July 27 approved the naming of some railway stations along the Lagos-Ibadan, Itakpe/Ajaokuta/ and Aladja/Warri corridorsvv after some Nigerian leaders.
