The National Council on Climate Change has reiterated its resolve to partner relevant stakeholders in mitigating climate impact posed by non-biodegradable materials.
The Director General of the Council, Salisu Dahiru stated this at a roundtable discussion with the Used Tyre Producers Responsibility Organization of Nigeria (UT-PRON) who paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
Dahiru emphasized the need to promote the culture of recycling non bio-degradable materials such as tyres that have reached their end-of-life cycle.

The discussion also focused on areas of collaboration in addressing the challenges of environmental degradation and responsible tyre management practice in Nigeria.
UT-PRON as established by law is saddled with the responsibility of regulating the importation, distribution and collection of end-of-life tyres to mitigate air pollution arising from burning of used tyres.
