Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje says, the closure of schools amid COVID-19 prevalence, in the second wave phase, could cause another tragedy of taking the society back again.
Ganduje made this known while holding a stakeholders meeting with members of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and selected Head Teachers, in the Sensitisation on the second wave of COVID-19.

He stressed that the state government had no plans to lockdown schools.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abba Anwar.
The governor said though there is a dire need to fight the pandemic, using all available avenues, he however called on all, to clearly understand the repercussions of certain actions in the process.
