National coach of the Volleyball team, Usman Abdullah has called for more funding for the sports, if it is to be rated amongst the best in the world.
Coach Abdullah stated this shortly before the team departed Nigeria for Kigali, Rwanda venue of the African Championship scheduled to start from the 5th of September to 20th.
Though despite the low patronage from government Coach Abdullah expressed confidence in his team’s ability to compete favourably among the best African Nations.

Team captain, Daniel Nathaniel believes the team will defy all odds as he expresses optimism in the team’s ability to go all the way for the title
Chairman caretaker committee of the Nigeria volleyball federation Musa Nimrod who admonished the team to be good ambassadors of the country, however described the 14th place finish of the U-19 boys at the world championships in Iran as satisfactory.
The said the volleyball family in the country is looking forward to the senior men’s team to win an elusive title at the African Nations cup in Rwanda.
