Combating Banditry : Zamfara Police neutralizes two bandits, leaves several others with gun shot injuries

Police in Zamfara State have neutralized two bandits and left several others with gun shot injuries at Tofa community in Tsafe local government area of Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria.

The public Relations Officer of the command, Superintendent Mohammed Shehu who briefed newsmen on behalf of the commissioner of Police Ayuba Elkana, said the police special forces repelled the bandits attacks at Tofa Community in Tsafe local council on 4th of January, 2022.

The State had in the last few days witnessed upsurge of attacks, killings and abductions of several innocent citizens.

This informed calls on Government and the security agencies to upscale their efforts in the ongoing onslaught against bandits and their collaborators in order to secure law abiding citizens and their property.

It was against this backdrop that the police special forces deployed along Tsafe – Funtua road on confidence building patrol killed two bandits but many others escaped with gun shot wounds.

The Public Relations Officer Superintendent Mohammed Shehu explained that the police received a distress call from Tofa community on 4th January 2022, that bandits on seven motorcycles with dangerous weapons were sighted coming to attack the community and had blocked the road to also attack commuters.

The spokesman of the Zamfara State Police command Superintendent Mohammed Shehu disclosed that the police operatives recovered one motorcycle, 22 rounds of live ammunition and two Techno handsets from the scene.
