The Kaduna State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested four suspects, as part of its intensified efforts to combat vandalism, and the theft of public infrastructure.

Parading the suspects at the NSCDC Headquarters in Kaduna, the State Commandant, Muhammadu Dansadau, reaffirmed the corps’ resolve to rid the state of criminal elements, sabotaging critical infrastructure.

The clampdown on vandalism in Kaduna State is now yielding results, as the Special Task Force of the NSCDC arrested three suspects, for allegedly stealing railway sleepers.

The Commandant, Muhammadu Dansadau, represented by the Head of the Anti-Vandal Unit, Assistant Commandant of Corps, Nasir Jimoh, said the suspects were apprehended, following an intelligence-led operation.

He explained that the suspects were intercepted while transporting 61 stolen railway sleepers, concealed under 27 bags of sawdust, in a J5 bus, en route to Katsina State.

In a separate operation, the NSCDC, in collaboration with Sector 4 of Fansan Yamma, arrested a 25-year-old suspect, Umar Ibrahim, in Katari Town, Kachia Local Government Area.
