The age-long boundary dispute between Erei and Unwana communities in Cross River and Ebonyi States has been settled through alternative dispute resolution, approved by the government of the two states.
The land crisis had led to lost of lives and property in both communities, with previous efforts to resolve the conflict by the Federal Government agencies yielding no result.
Speaking at the Alternative Dispute Resolutuon meetimg at Unwana, Chairman of Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State, Ada Charles who led the delegation from the State at the instance of the Deputy Governor, said the meeting became necessary due to the recurrent nature of the conflict and its changing dynamics.

Representative of the Unwana community in Ebonyi State, South-East Nigeria, Timothy Martins said all the leaders, youths and women of Unwana who attended the meeting have agreed to live together in peace with the Erei community of Cross River State, South-South Nigeria.
The two communities assured the people that their Memorandum of Understanding signed by both parties will be sent to the government for enforcement.
