The Conference of State Legislatures in Nigeria has called on the Federal Government to tinker with the security architecture in the country, so as to reflect the demographic realities.
This is contained in a communique issued at the end of its first quarterly meeting held in Bauchi State, North-East Nigeria.
Addressing journalists at the end of the technical sessions of the meeting, the Chairman of the conference, Abubakar Suleiman said, the conference is worried over the spate of insecurity in Nigeria.

In another development, the conference directed state assemblies to pass the fund’s management bill in their respective state
houses of assembly into law, for effective implementation of financial autonomy for state legislatures and judiciary.
He added that the conference has also set up a committee to resolve the lingering issues of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN.
