Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku has flagged-off construction of the road leading to the State International Rice Milling Company in Gassol Local Government Area.
The project cost is put at N7.7 billion and is expected to multiply rice farming in the area where the community is underdeveloped due to poor access roads and has become a flashpoint for activities of kidnappers.

On completion of the 24-kilometre road project, the Governor says the government is considering setting up a military base to contain the proliferation of banditry in the area.

State Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu and other indigenes of Gassol Local Government have expressed delight with the flag-off of the much awaited construction of the Yerima-Gassol Road.
Governor Ishaku has assured the people of Gassol Local Government Area that the road project will be completed before he leaves office on May 29, next year.
