The Consultants and Principal Medical Officers, at the Federal Medical Center Yola, say they are terribly overstretched, due to the absence of the striking doctors now in it’s 2nd week.
The top medical personnel and the National Youth Service Corps health practitioners, have been working round the clock, to fill the vacuum, created by the striking doctors in the state.

The Medical Director of the Federal Medical Center Yola, Awwal Muhammad, said that patients with emergency cases are also not turned back.
But relatives of some patients said that, the industrial action, has prolonged the period of treatment of their loved ones, and also increased their financial burden.
The resident doctors embarked on the industrial action two weeks ago, to demand for the payment of salary shortfalls, hazard allowance, removal of resident and NYSC doctors from the scheme of service and shortage of manpower.
