The National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Yakubu Mahmood, has raised concern over the several attacks targeted on INEC facilities.
The INEC boss who stated this during an emergency meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners in Abuja, vowed to work with host communities and security agencies to fish out perpetrators.

Professor Yakubu stressed that if attacks continue unchecked, it may affect preparations for the 2023 general elections, continuous voter registration, CVR. Slated for June 28th
In a related development the spokesperson of INEC in Ebonyi State, Ali Sunday, has confirmed another coordinated attack on three Local Government offices of the Commission.
Though no causality was recorded, he described the damage done to the building as extensive.
The affected offices are in Izhi, Ezzah North, and Ebonyi Local Government Areas.
