The Enugu State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has fixed 19th July 2021 as the commencement date for both online and physical registration of legible voters in the State.
The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Emeka Ononamadu, is however warning that double registration and registration of persons below the age of 18 years constitute criminal offences under the electoral laws.

He explained that the new registration is part of the nationwide continuous voter registration exercise, aimed at ensuring that no prospective voter in the State who desires to vote is disenfranchised.
Ononamadu assured the people of Enugu State that despite the sad experiences of attacks on some of its facilities in the State, the Commission has put in place necessary logistics to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
You will recall that 2 Local Government Areas of INEC in Enugu State and its headquarters in the State capital were recently attacked by suspected hoodlums.
