The isolation center being used for Lassa fever located in Nasarawa state has been expanded, preparatory for any reported cases of Coronavirus.
The Chief Medical Director of the centre, Dr Hassan Ikrama, who stated this during an interview with AIT in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital, said finishing touches are being given to the facility, to make it fully functional.

The isolation centre, which is located at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia, has 12 rooms and three beds.
The management of the facility said they are working to furnish the isolation center in couple of days, to making it operational.
Investigations carried out by AIT showed that the government needs to upgrade the isolation center to meet up with the challenges being presented by COVID-19.
The management commendsed the efforts of the media in helping to spread awareness of the virus, as it is one of the powerful means they are using to create awareness on the Coronavirus outbreak.
A visit to some of the schools and offices showed no precautionary measures have been put in place to help safeguard the spread of the disease except for the Ministry of Health in Lafia.
