Governments at all levels in Nigeria have been tasked to provide conducive environment, as well as teaching aids to improve educational standards across the country.
The Anglican Bishop on the Niger, His Lordship, Rt. Reverend Owen Nwokolo threw the challenge while addressing participants at the 2024 Anglican Teachers Convention held at the All Saints Cathedral, Onitsha in Anambra State, South-East Nigeria.

The event which started with a thanksgiving service, offered the Bishop the opportunity to speak to those in power on the existential need to fix the falling infrastructural and human capital requirements of the Nigerian education sector.
Bishop Nwokolo wants those in authority to specifically improve the working conditions of teachers through enhanced welfare packages and the provision of modern teaching aids to meet global standards.
On how to overcome the current harsh economic situation in the country, the Anglican clergyman is encouraging teachers to among other things venture into agriculture, to augment their take home salaries.
