Following the recent protest in Minna, the capital of Niger State in North-Central Nigeria over the current hardship and skyrocketing prices of food items, the State Government is set to regulate the prices of commodities in the market.
This is coming a few days after the Governor, Umar Bago promised to put measures in place to forestall another protest in which he also signed an Executive Order to halt the bulk purchase and transportation of food items from villages for sale outside the State.

Also, the move is coming barely 24 hours after the alleged leader of the protest, 30-year-old Aisha Jibrin, and 24 others were granted administrative bail by the State Government.
In furtherance of the directive, the State House of Assembly has presented a bill seeking to regulate the prices of commodities which has passed First Reading.
