A six count criminal charge of forgery has been filed before a Federal High Court in Abuja against one Eziafa Samuel Enwedo.

The charge is in connection to a suit challenging the educational qualification of Ifeanyi Ubah, a senator representing Anambra south senatorial district in the Nigerian senate.

But the charge felony has now been filed against defendant, accusing him of forging court documents in order to commit fraud.

Eziafa is accused along with three other persons currently at large. Among the documents said to have been forged is an originating summons in the name of Anani Chuka vs Ifeanyi Ubah.

According to investigation by the police leading to the charge, the defendant with his accomplices made the document, pretending it to be genuine, with the intent to prejudice the senator.

Part of the charge alleges that the Eziafa also falsified a purported judgement in suit number cv/3044/18 with the intent that it be acted upon as genuine and used against Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

The defendant is also said to have issued a press release to Elombah news based on the false documents stating that the senator has been removed from the senate on the grounds that he forged his O’level NECO certificate.

The said press release also stated that Senator Ubah was not lawfully nominated as senator, alleging that his party – the Young Progressives Party – did not conduct primaries.
