Court discharges and acquits ex-militant leader, Tompolo

A former commander of the proscribed Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, Government Ekpomukpolo also known as Tompolo who is facing two separate charges before Justice Ibrahim Buba of the Federal High Court Ikoyi, Lagos, has been absolved of all allegations bothering on fraud filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Justice Buba, who upheld the no-case submission filed in March 2020, by the defence counsel, Jakpa Emmanuel, faulted the prosecutor, EFCC, for not proving its case beyond doubt.

Buba subsequently acquitted all the accused.
