An FCT High Court sitting in Garki has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Joseph Eriki, the FCTA Director of Investigations and Prosecutions and 11 others
Justice Suleiman Belgore issued the bench warrant against the defendants so that they could appear in Court for their arraignment on a 9-count charge bordering on land grabbing allegation preferred by the Federal government.
The Prosecution Counsel, David Kaswe told the Court that the defendants who are on administrative bail had been duly served of the charges against them and that all efforts to bring them to Court had proved abortive.
Kwase then applied for the Court to issue a bench warrant against the defendants as the last resort to compel them to appear before the Court, under section 124 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015.

The trial Judge after issuing a bench warrant against the 12 defendants, however adjourned till June 4, 2025 to enable to prosecution produce them in Court for their arraignment.
The defendants are charged with 9 -counts of alleged criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, forgery, using as genuine a forged document, criminal force to deter a public servant from his duty, wrongful restrain and causing hurt.
