Following the Abuja High Court’s sacking of eighteen house of Assembly members in Cross River State,the state Police Command has warned political parties and their supporters against Fomenting Trouble, saying anyone caught will face the full wrath of the law.
A detachment of heavily armed policemen Tuesday shut down the Cross River State House of Assembly in Càlabar.
Speaking on the development,the Commissioner of Police who spoke through his public relations officer, Irene Ugbo ,said the action was to guard against any possible attack and clash by political parties’ supporters, as revealed through it’s intelligence operations.
The CP who warned all the political parties to play by the rules ,said Cross River State belong to all lawful citizens.

On their part,the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Venatius Ikem, and the deputy chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Eka Williams Commended the action of the Police.
The anti-riot policemen had blocked the entrance to the Cross River State Assembly complex, denying workers and others living within the area access, following a federal high court judgment in Abuja.
