In a significant development, a three-man panel of the Court of Appeal, Ibadan, led by Justice Biobele Abraham-Gorgewell, has adjourned the case challenging the Ibadan PDP convention, granting the party’s leadership and counsel leave to resolve their internal crisis amicably.
The court, mindful of the importance of party unity and adherence to INEC guidelines, has directed all parties to explore settlement options, with a view to resolving the matter out of court. The panel formally granted them leave to resolve their matters amicably, considering the ongoing INEC guidelines process.
However, the court noted that if the parties fail to reach a resolution, they should revert to the court for further directions.
Recall that the Court of Appeal, Abuja, had earlier invalidated the PDP Elective Convention that saw the emergence of Kabiru Turaki as National Chairman.
This latest development offers a ray of hope for the PDP to put its house in order and emerge stronger.
