Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin, has remanded an 83-year-old chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Illiasu Ibrahim, along with Shola Muse and a popular indigenous radio presenter, Adesemowo “Ade Gogo” Suleiman, over alleged defamatory remarks against the elder brother of Kwara State Governor.

The trial judge, Justice E.B. Mohammed, ordered that the defendants be remanded at the Oke-Kura Custodial Centre after their arraignment on a three-count criminal charge filed by the Kwara State Government.

The trio is accused of making derogatory remarks and alleged false claims against the Mutawali of Ilorin, Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq, who is the elder brother to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq during a programme broadcast on SBS 96.9 FM, Ilorin.

According to the charge sheet dated December 17, 2025, and signed by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Ayoola Idowu Akande, the defendants allegedly made statements capable of inciting the public against the Governor.

Justice Mohammed subsequently adjourned the case to April 25, 2026, for further hearing.
