The Federal High Court has dismissed a suit instituted by the Action Peoples Party challenging the defection of Martin Amaewhule and 26 others as members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The suit is seeking to replace the 27 lawmakers on account of their alleged defection from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Justice Peter Lifu held that the suit is statued bar having not been initiated as at when due and amounts to a gross abuse of court process.
