Health authority in Plateau State, North Central Nigeria have confirmed that twenty-two prospective corps members posted to the State have tested positive for COVID-19 at the NYSC orientation camp in Mangu Local Government Area of the state.
This was discovered after a rapid test of over one thousand Corps Members of the 2021 Batch ‘B’ Stream One posted to Plateau State.

The state Commissioner for Health, Nimkong Lar, made the confirmation while speaking to ait.live in Jos, the state. capital
According to him, after their screening, it was discovered that twenty-two of them tested positive for COVID-19.
The commissioner, however, said there was no cause for alarm as the infected persons had been taken to an isolation centre where they were receiving treatment.
Lar, also debunked rumours making the rounds that the cases discovered were Delta variant.
