Covid-19: Factional Ohanaeze Ndigbo calls for strict adherence to safety guidelines to curtail spread

The Factional President General of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chidi Ibe has called on the people of the South East region and Nigerians at large to constantly adhere to the rules and guidelines that will help in curtailing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

Speaking to reporters in Enugu, Ibe praised the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari for working tirelessly in making sure that the virus is curtailed.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo chieftain said his group is supporting government programs including making sure that education is brought closer to the rural communities through the award of scholarships and the distribution of free face masks to the vulnerable and elders in various communities in the region.

On the recent Ohanaeze Ndigbo election, the factional leader claimed that the election in Owerri, the Imo State capital, conducted by Gary Igariwey led the electoral committee which produced Prof. George Obiozor executive was illegal, insisting that such committee was non-existent.
