Following the delivery of 55,790 doses of Oxford AstraZeneca Vaccines to the Kwara State Government earlier in the week, frontline health workers in the State have been vaccinated.
This is in line with the directive of the federal government for health workers and strategic leaders to be the first to receive their jabs which later followed by the State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
Speaking during the kick-off of the vaccination in Ilorin, the State capital, the Executive Secretary, Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Nusirat Elelu said the 55,790 doses of the Vaccine and would be administered on residents of the State across the 16 local government areas.
In her remarks, the Executive Secretary, Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Nusirat Elelu maintained that in order to enlighten residents of the State, Covid-19 vaccination campaign will be conducted within ten days across the State targeting health workers and other strategic leaders at the primary, secondary and tertiary health facility.

The State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq noted that the decision for leaders to take the first jabs is to build public trust and confidence in the vaccine and erase whatever doubts members of the public may have about it.
Governor Abdulrazaq however urged members of the public to take the vaccine which is meant to build their immunity against the virus.
