Wife of the Governor of Cross River State, Linda Ayade has called on health workers in the state to brace up and meet the challenges of the immunization and vaccination awareness campaigns in an effort to contain the spread of various diseases including the Omicron Covid-19 virus in the state.
The Governor’s wife made the call during the flagging off ceremony of the Outbreak Response, Round Two for Polio vaccination campaign, held at the Big Qua Village in Calabar Municipality Area Council of the State.

The Cross River First lady who said about nine hundred thousand Children are targets for immunization, enjoined parents, traditional rulers, religious leaders and stakeholders to be involved by ensuring that children from 0-59 months are immunized ,just as adults of required age are vaccinated against COVID-19.
She assured that Cross River State will continue to take the lead in caring for the children and women, especially in their healthcare needs.
The Director General of Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Janet Ekpeyong, said house to house method will be used to get the target children and parents.
Ayade’s wife said government efforts to protect every child in the State from being affected by the Polio virus with the vaccine as a potent tool that reduces the spread of the poliomyelitis virus was part of the government healthcare policy.
