In a bid to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 Omicron variant, the Bauchi State government has said it is prepared to open more vaccination centres across the state.
The State government also announced that it will ensure strict adherence to its Covid-19 safety protocols all through the festive season and enjoined residents to comply.
All of this was at a meeting with members of the State Covid-19 Task Force team at the Bauchi State Government House.

Following the emergence of the new Covid-19 disease known as the Omicron variant, the Chairman on Covid-19 Tasks Force, who is also the Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Baba Tela, said the government has made all arrangements to fight the disease.
He enjoined the people of the state, especially the religious and traditional leaders to ensure total compliance with the safety protocols, particularly the Omicron variant.
He also urged those that are yet to receive their second dose of the vaccine, to go to the designated centres, as the vaccine will soon expire.
While assuring their maximum support and cooperation towards the fight against the disease, the religious leaders said they will sensitize their subjects on the effects of the virus, and the need for people to take the vaccines.
