Residents Doctors at the Ondo State University of Medical Sciences, UNIMEDTHC, have suspended their proposed indefinite strike over unpaid salaries.
The doctors had threatened to embark on indefinite strike if their salary arrears ranging from 2-5months were not paid.
At the end of congress, the resident doctors said they reached the decision to ensure essential healthcare services to the people in the era of Covid-19 outbreak.
Speaking on behalf of the doctors, the Acting President of the association, Abiola Shittu, insisted on the payment of salaries.
The group also asked for immediate reconciliation and payment of the salaries of newly employed medical officers who were engaged in March but were excluded from the payroll in March and April.
