Southeast leaders have reviewed the handling of Covid 19 in the region; declaring a mandatory House-to-House testing for persons aged 65 and above.
The Southeast leaders also called for the conduct of compulsory Covid 19 test for teachers in the zone ahead of plans to reopen schools in the region.
Chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum, and Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, revealed this while briefing journalists in Abakaliki at the end of a virtual meeting.

Governor Umahi said the leaders agreed to engage youths from the region in meaningful ventures that will help to resuscitate the nation’s economy.
According the Umahi, the leaders appreciated the Federal Government for the level of work on the Second Niger Bridge, as well the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
They however asked the Federal Government to pay similar attention to the Eastern corridor rail line project.
The Meeting had in attendance former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, and the Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe as well as the Governors of the Southeast States.
