Government officials in Imo State, including Governor Hope Uzodinma, his wife, and the Deputy Governor have taken their doses of the Oxford AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine.
The vaccination took place at the Primary Health Centre, Owerri Imo State.
Governor Uzodinma before taking the vaccine, encouraged all Imo residents not only to take the vaccine but keep observing the Covid-19 protocols.
He also urged those within the recommended age bracket to avail themselves the opportunity of being vaccinated.

Uzodinma explained that the vaccine was recommended by the World Health Organization, WHO, and commended the Federal Government for procuring the vaccine.
Shortly after his speech, the Governor, his wife, the deputy governor and other top government functionaries took their turns.
Government also promised that measures were on to ensure that the 27 local government areas were covered in the exercise.
