Zamfara State Commissioner for Health, Yahaya Kanoma, has taken the sensitization on the safety of the Oxford Astrazeneca Covid-19 vaccine to one Brigade of the Nigeria Army, Gusau.

The Commissioner for Health said, the sensitization is to get the people to accept the vaccine, in order to ensure the coronavirus pandemic is eradicated in Nigeria.

He said his ministry planned to carry out public education and enlightenment about the efficacy, and the safety of the vaccine and the need for the citizens to receive it, to protect themselves from the global health crisis.

Yahaya Kanoma told journalists that the state government, under the leadership of Governor Bello Matawalle, is committed to safeguarding the health of the residents, which is why no part of the state would be left out of the sensitization.

Kanoma said the sensitization is important, to disabuse the minds of the people, regarding the misinformation some have put out about the negative effects of the vaccines, saying that the covid-19 vaccine is safe, and people should go to receive it.

The Commander of One Brigade of the Nigeria Army, Gusau, Brigadier General Muhammed Bello, appreciated the effort of the  Zamfara State ministry, for taking the awareness campaign for the safety of the vaccine to the brigade.

He pledged the support of One Brigade, to ensure the administration of the vaccine to the personnel of the Nigeria Army in Gusau, describing the vaccine as effective and safe, which every eligible person should receive

The campaign for the safety of the Oxford Astrazeneca Covid-19 vaccine is expected to be taken to the rural communities in Zamfara State.
