As Nigeria and Kenya head to the International Cricket Council, ICC U-19 World Cup Division One Qualifier as top teams in division two, Kenya will raise their shoulders high as the best team in the Division 2 qualification tournament which ended today in Abuja.

Kenya won Nigeria by 11 runs in what happened to be a low scoring final at the twin oval of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

Looking to impress dignitaries at the final which included the minister of youth and sports development, Sunday Dare and Former President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation, Emeka Onyeama, the Junior Yellow Greens bowed to top bowling from their Kenyan counterparts.

Kenya posted 90 runs all out in 35 overs and limited Nigeria to 70 runs all out in 20.4 overs to win by 11 runs.

Dare did not mince words in commending the Nigeria Cricket Federation for hosting an International Tournament and promised to make a case for Cricket to be reinstated as a medal scoring sports at the forthcoming 21st National sports festival.
