The Cross River State Government has taken a step toward strengthening its aviation sector, with the acquisition of two additional aircraft for Cally Air.
Governor Bassey Otu, who returned to the state after a three-week leave, was welcomed at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar, where he announced the expansion of the airline’s fleet.
Governor Bassey Otu says the additional aircraft will not only boost Cally Air’s operational capacity, but also open up new economic opportunities by improving passenger movement within and outside the state.
He described the move as a step towards positioning Cross River as a hub for regional aviation, tourism, and trade.
Governor Otu also highlighted two major federal projects expected to transform the state’s economy—the flag-off of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone by Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the long-awaited Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
From aviation to agriculture and infrastructure, the state is charting a bold course toward economic integration and sustainable growth.
