Cross River Gov. Ayade flags off quality, affordable health scheme

The Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade Ayade, on Tuesday, reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that all Cross Riverians enjoy quality and affordable healthcare.

Ayade who charged the Cross River state Health Insurance Agency, CRSHIA, to cater for the vulnerable, particularly in terms of their healthcare ,said that anyone involved in the embezzlement of the fund, will be prosecuted.

The Governor spoke at the U.J Esune Stadium, Calabar, venue of the formal enrolment into the Cross River state Healthcare Insurance Scheme, christened, “Ayadecare”.

The Governor joined by his Health commissioner, urged the citizenry and corporate organisations, to key into the scheme, saying the goal of his administration, was to take healthcare to all parts of the state.

Earlier in his speech the Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, Professor Muhammed Sambo and the State Head of the Agency in Cross River, Godwin Iyala, said that the state can now benefit from the grant available to states that have commenced the enrolment .

Ayade had earlier commission a new office of the Cross River Health Insurance Scheme, located in the State Housing Estate, Calabar.
