The Cross River State government says it is strengthening its commitment to youth empowerment through platforms that promote entrepreneurship, employability, and mentorship.

At the 2024 Students Entrepreneurship and Employability Summit themed “After Studies, What Next?”, Deputy Governor Peter Odey highlighted the state’s efforts to equip students with the tools to address societal challenges.

The Deputy Governor, Peter Odey emphasized the importance of preparing students—both graduates and those still in school—to become solution-driven entrepreneurs.

The Deputy Governor who was represented at the summit, said this would not only address societal challenges but also create future employment opportunities.

The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to youth development, highlighting key initiatives like innovation hubs, access to startup loans, and policies that promote better training opportunities.

Also speaking, Kelvin Enyam, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Students’ Affairs, emphasized the summit’s significance in shaping the future of youths in the state.

The summit underscored the government’s dedication to equipping young people with the tools and resources they need to succeed, aiming to create a new generation of leaders and entrepreneurs in Cross River State.
