Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu has charged corps members deployed to the state to become agents of positive change by using their one-year service to drive socio-economic development in their host communities.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2024 Batch C Stream 2 corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Obubra, the governor emphasized the need for resourcefulness, skills acquisition, and community impact.
The state Commissioner for Youth Development, Ijom Ukam who represented the governor at the event, urged the corps members to maximize their service year by combining their talents, academic knowledge, and orientation training to leave a lasting legacy in their host communities.

He reassured them of his administration’s commitment to providing a conducive environment to make them enjoy their stay in the state.
NYSC State Coordinator, Oyenuga Mojisola, also stressed the importance of skills acquisition in combating unemployment and encouraged the corps members to actively engage in the NYSC skills acquisition programs to position themselves as future employers of labour.
As the corps members begin the three-week orientation program, they are expected to embrace discipline, dedication, and a commitment to nation-building, laying the foundation for a service year that will leave a lasting impact on their host communities.
