In an effort to discourage large gatherings at market places and to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, Cross River State Government has launched an E-Market platform known as “Your Market Friend”.
The Commissioner for Commerce, Rosemary Archibong said, the E-Market will make goods and services available to the citizens at affordable prices.
Archibong explained that the innovation which is online and real-time delivery, will enable citizens to buy goods as if they are in the market, “because any price given can be negotiated”.
Stakeholders who attended the launch, including farmers, Traders and the representative of Calabar Chamber of Commerce, Trade and Investment, commended the initiative.
The e-Commerce platform is where people can place orders, buy food items, or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) with just a click of a button.
The Commissioner said the platform was an initiative of Governor Ben Ayade.
