Residents say the current housing situation is disconnected from reality as people’s salaries remain stagnant while the cost of accommodation keeps climbing.

The worst affected are people living in prime locations, such as Satellite Town, Marian, Federal and State Housing Estates, Ekorinim, and Parliamentary Extension, where rents are relatively higher compared to other parts of the city.
Residents blame the situation on estate agents who they accuse of exploiting tenants and called for a structured housing policy and better housing regulation by the state government.
