Cross River judiciary: Gov. Ayade swears in 9 Judges, 2 Perm. Secretaries

Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade, has sworn in the former acting Chief Judge of the State, Justice Maurice Eneji as President of the State Customary Court of Appeal, and eight others, with a charge on them to stand tall and Correct the ills in the society as the last hope of the common man.

The eight other judges sworn in, aside the president were four for the customary Court of Appeal,Four for the state high court as well as two permanent Secretaries.
Ayade who harped on the critical tenets of incorruptibilty, fairness, integrity, fearlessness, in dispensing justice to the people, charged the newly chief judges to uphold the sacred responsibility of ensuring that justice is not only served but must be seen to have been served.

The Governor commended the Chief Judge of the State,Akon Ikpeme for her steadfastness as the head of the state Judiciary.

The president of the customary court of appeal and others who spoke at the event pledged to deliver their duties with a sense of diligence and competence.

The swearing in of the judges According to the Secretary of the State Government was the single largest event in the history of Cross River Judiciary.
