Cross River Oil Wells: N18.5b was given to Imoke’s Govt as political solution- Akpabio

Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio Says contrary to insinuations that he took Cross River State to Court to take its Oil Wells, it was rather the government under liyel Imoke that approached the law Court on the matter.

Akapbio was speaking in Calabar during his consultation with delegates to support his aspirations to be President of Nigeria on Wednesday night,saying he was speaking on the matter for the first time for the people of Cross River to know who caused their challenges.

The former minister said Akwa Ibom and Cross River are the same state with administrative differences, assuring that if given the ticket to be president, more Indigenes of the State will benefit.

He said while he was in government, in a bid to provide political solution to the oil Wells matter,a whopping N18.5billion Naira was given to the Cross River state Government under Liyel Imoke.

The Chairman of APC in Cross River State, Alphonsus Eba thanked the former Governor for supporting Cross River State to join the ruling party at the centre.

The Presidential aspirant said security, economy and one Nigeria will form his core agenda to rewrite the wrongs of the country if he was elected as President .
