Cross River Senatorial Elections: Tribunal Grants Ayade Permission To Inspect Electoral Documents

Cross River State Governor Professor Ben Ayade

The Election Petition Trubunal sitting in Calabar, the Cross River State Capital has granted the Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the just concluded Northern Senatorial election Ben Ayade, permission to inspect all electoral Documents and thereafter serve the PDP Candidate Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe the court papers

The Court in a Petition suit No: EPT/CR/SEN/02/2023. 27/03/2023 granted orders on leave to serve Senator Jarigbe the petition by substituted means.

The Tribunal also granted Ayade the leave to inspect all the INEC documents used in the conduct of the election of Cross River North Senatorial District on 25th February 2023.

The Court as well Ordered INEC to make available to the Petitioners all necessary documents used in the conduct of the election of Cross River North Senatorial District

Recalled that Ayade in his petition had demonstrated all the infractions and irregularities that marred the election, particularly over-voting and mutilation of election results in favour of Jarigbe.

Ayade’s petition is on the strength of the evidence seeking to be declared the winner of the Senatorial election.
