Cross River State Police Command has witnessed a change of leadership as Rashid Afegbua officially assumed duty as the new Commissioner of Police.
His arrival marks the 48th Commissioner to head the command.
Afegbua who becomes the 48th commissioner of Police in the state took over from Olusegun Omosanyin at a brief ceremony held at the Command Headquarters in Diamond Hill, Calabar.
The event included traditional inspection of the Guard of Honour and a closed-door session with senior officers, where Omosanyin expressed gratitude for the cooperation he enjoyed during his tenure and urged officers to extend same to his successor.

Rashid Afegbua, a native of Okpella in Edo State, brings over three decades of policing experience.
Before his posting, he served as Deputy Commissioner in charge of Administration at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
He was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police in June 2024.
