Cross River State Government has advised all the frontline health workers to adhere to medical rules and protocols in responding to any suspected case of Coronavirus and other related deadly diseases in the State.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Betta Edu stated this during the training of 400 health workers in partnership with the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital.
Edu who doubles as the Chairman of the State Covid-19 Task Force Response Team said the training of trainers for Infection Prevention and Control of the Coronavirus Global Pandemic has continued to attract more volunteers in ensuring that the State is up to date with its level of preparedness in a bid to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
She insisted that Cross River State is still Covid-19 free.
On his part, the Chairman, Medical Advisory Council of the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Professor Ngim Ngim who represented the Chief Medical Director said the training will go along way to prepare the health workers on their roles,sl should there be any confirmed case of Covid-19 in Cross River State.
Some participants who spoke on the sideline said with the training, they are ready to train others with the technical knowledge on how to handle the Infection Prevention and Control of the dreaded virus.
