In a decisive push to energise grassroots enterprise and job creation, the Cross River State Government has flagged off the disbursement of a 500 million Naira loan facility to micro, small, and medium businesses.
The intervention targets the productive base of the economy, positioning small enterprises as drivers of growth and income expansion.
At a high-level business engagement in Calabar, Governor Bassey Otu, represented by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Elvert Ayambem, signalled a firm policy shift towards people-focused development, stressing that economic success must be measured by its real impact on households, businesses, and livelihoods.
Governor Bassey Otu says beyond access to finance, his administration has also intensified capacity-building efforts, training thousands of residents and preparing verified businesses to effectively utilise the facility.
