Women in Cross River State will enjoy 40% stake in the executive committee of the All Progressives Congress in the 196 council wards in the State.
This was part of the decision of the party members during the ongoing ward congress of APC in the state which was through consensus.
Speaking with journalists in Calabar, APC women leader, Esther Ayomobi and the Chairman of the party, Mathew Mbu Jnr. Said the decision was to give women a sense of belonging in Cross River.
While assuring that the consensus as agreed by the party members will be affirmed through due process, APC Ward congress team leader, Hassan Kafayus, and Senior Special Adviser Political Matters, Peter Ojie said the peaceful disposition in Cross River State should be emulated by all.
