Cross River Students Demand Accountability From Their Governorship Candidates

Students in Cross River State are demanding accountability from all the Governorship Candidates in the State ahead of March 11 Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections,saying henceforth it will not be business as usual.

The Students body under the National Association of Nigerian Students,(NANS) National Association of Cross River State Students, Student Union Government Presidents of the two Universities made their position known while addressing journalists at the NUJ Press Centre in Calabar.

Led by Akpeke Peter and Tyron Bassey, the student leaders said the youths and students of Cross River State have regain their political sovereignty through the ballots,saying any of the Candidates with positive record of social services including Education, Health and intellectual ties with students welfarism will get their votes in next Saturday’s election.

Other Students who spoke, said the Socio-political stability in Cross River State is utmost in their agenda, hence the support for power rotation among the three senatorial districts.

The Student Union leaders called on all students and youths of the State to be resolute in their decision and ensure cohesion within their ranks as they perform their civic duties at the polls.
