Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade, has called for the federal government’s support, on the Calabar Super highway project.
Speaking during the inspection of the project in the Northern part of the State, Prof. Ayade said that while his administration plans to crystallise industrialisation of the state, the Federal Government also needs to buy into the multiplier benefits of the project.
While expressing satisfaction with the level of work done, the Governor said that the 274km Superhighway, and the Bakassi Deep Seaport, are critical projects capable of opening up the country’s economy.

Prof. Ayade said that the solid minerals from the north, need an evacuation and access to the Atlantic coastline, in order to have full utility value for the nation.
