The Cross River State Government has warned against the collection of illegal levies by unauthorized persons saying such individuals will be arrested and prosecuted irrespective of their status in the society.
Chairman of the state Internal Revenue Service, IRS, Akpanke Ogar gave the warning in Càlabar, Wednesday, when he recieved the leadership of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, NIPR, in his office.
Akpanke says sanctions await government agencies and their service providers who indulge in illegal revenue collection.
The Chairman of NIPR in Cross River State, Ben Okache said the organization will partner with IRS on sensitization and training of staff and agents for better productivity.

The Internal Revenue Service Chairman says multiple Tax collections in Càlabar South, Ikom, Ogoja, Yala and Bekwara will be monitored closely with the aim of apprehending the saboteurs.
