The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) has disclosed that its door to door advocacy in the Continous Permanent Voters’ Registration in Cross River State was yielding positive results.
The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Cyril Omoregbe made this known in Càlabar shortly after he recieved the state executive committee of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, (NIPR) at the Commission’s headquarters.
Omoregbe said the number of registered voters has increased tremendously due to the new strategy adopted by the commission.
The REC appealed to those who have not collected their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to do so saying the commission was poised to conducting credible elections in the state in 2023.
The State Chairman of (NIPR), Ben Okache said the Institute was ready to Partner with INEC in the area of sensitization and advocacy.
The Current voters’ registration in all the three thousand two hundred and eighty one polling units of Cross River State according to INEC, have greatly improved in three folds, especially in the hard-to-reach communities.
